Traffic and Trafficking

Isn’t it sad…
when there’s more concern
over morning highway traffic
than mournful human trafficking?
The news makes a big deal
covering the traffic report,
presenting it with showy graphics
and flashing sig alerts.
Yet, there is no major fuss
no investigative report, not even a
mention about human trafficking
in the daily headlines.
Ain’t it mad
when commuters willfully, constantly
honk their horns— even though they’re stuck
and going nowhere fast?
We give into frustration easily,
show it off well— but when it comes
to venting about human trafficking—
Not a word. We dare not even sound off.
