O, have you heard the news this week?

The Week Poetic
Week of the 14th to the 21st of January, 2024
Xs and Os strategies were discussed
on how to deal with "Disease X"
and carrying out "Global Governance"
aka the "New World Order"
or “explicit guise for worldwide disorder”
at the World Economic Forum conference…
Disease X... O! The BIG "X" unknown thing.
Plenty of people were nonplussed
merely from discourse about it
but many others weren't surprised at all
as they had expected it - or something
like it- coming to befall…
Some Xs and Os strategies were ditched
altogether and US prez campaigns
made all but lost causes
after the Iowa Caucuses,
which historically went to Mr. Trump.
Subsequently, Rep. candidate Ramaswamy
ended his campaign and quickly made a jump
on the Trump train.. On the wagon he hitched...
Xs and Os football strategy was ended
in the NFL playoffs for the Dallas Cowboys,
Philly Eagles, L.A. Rams, Pitt Steelers
Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers—
all of them were bounced
from contention. But it was “Dem Cowboys”
who were especially denounced
and demeaned as being first round losers...
An " X" marked the abrupt cancellation
for the Uber supported Drizly
the store-to-home alcohol delivery;
X also marks the cancellation
of about all of Sports Illustrated staff,
whose coverage and covers drew
more of a scoffing laugh
than eyeballs and great revenue…
An "X", X-59, that is , was just revealed
NASA along with Lockheed Martin
announced X-59, the creation
of an experimental supersonic jet
with travel measure 1.4 x the speed of sound
and no sonic boom (oh so quiet!)…
In not-as-Xciting news...the Emmys,
once appointment T.V. circled with an "O",
fell to record audience viewing low (o!)
No open-mouthed surprises about who won
("Succession" winning shocked no one)
No big fashion deal on who wore it best?
No standout moments from the award show.
O, what a yawn fest…
It was a circle back week to Oppenheimer
The '23 film release that already won
top movie awards and made a ton
of box office dough won top Critic Choice
and garnered the most BAFTA noms
making it the One to beat for the big O- Oscar…
The end of the week closed with Xs and Os:
X for uncertainties and O for open-endedness,
both playing out in wars deemed endless
(as of now) in Ukraine, Gaza and in anti-globalist
protests in Europe that recently rose.
But ultimately this week, good news to boast
the stock week ended with an optimistic "O"
as the S&P closed on a record high.
Honorable mention in the end:
X symbolized the numerical distinction
of newly crowned king of Denmark
Frederik X (The Tenth)
