A Weekender post with new poem, Winter thoughts, song suggestion and more
-HAPPY NEW YEAR & WINTER-
Yes, I say, “Happy New Year” well into the first week in January. My cutoff will be Jan 31st. Reasonable enough, right? What a glorious wintertime just over a few weeks in officially. Thankfully no emotional winter blues on my front! Sincere well wishes to all who have to cope with a case of SAD ( Seasonal Affectual Disorder). I can only imagine the discontent, suffering… Even with the profound sense and actuality of barren and cold, Winter is a wonderful, magical time. All the better if snowfall occurs in your part
of the world (like it did mine a few weeks before Christmas).

Defy seasoned nay-sayers
Cozy up, bathe in the chills;
sing along to the howling;

Time for winter song play. Even since the ball dropped and Auld Lang Syne, songs of the season have been spinning in the Marinarena realm. I’m putting together an extensive “Best Wintersongs” list. For now, I’ll highlight the signature, poetic selection that happens to be a fave song by the one and only, Sting.
The Hounds of Winter by Sting
“A season for joy/ A season for sorrow”
I’m obsessed with this Wintersong! Featured on his Mercury Falling album. Along with “I Was Brought to my Senses”, this piece loops and loops on my player. How it has aged gorgeously! OH my, hear the bottom version with the amazing howling voice of Lisa Fischer! Be taken!

Oh, Baby, it’s still cold outside! Try making a soup this weekend, like my fave, French Onion (Soupe à l'oignon) C’est délicieuse!

***AHOY!***

I simply love your winter poem! Is it something you wrote as aa response to the winter poems you’ve come across or was it a creation irrespective of the winter poems? No wrong answers. Thank you for including my poem! Am grateful.
