From the Place and Time series
One time before boarding the bus
a creepy guy tried
to get me into his ride.
Another time a decent one
was successful in his efforts.
At times, there's a precious timetable sign
posted at the stop with a map
and major stopping points.
Most of the time, there isn't any.
Many times, I don't have to look
at the watch or dig in my bag
for the schedules,
when, the bus is on time.
Sometimes, I have no retreat
but to watch and count every passing blue car
and excavate deep into emotions,
knowing the bus'll be late.
I have lost count of all
of the thoughts wonderful and otherwise
I've gathered from those emotions,
definitely don't remember
how many blue cars and trucks that've passed me
at any given time,
hardly kept up with my bus schedules,
can't imagine how many timetables I've followed,
will never forget that nice man who picked me up
but unfortunately can't forget also that creep in the jeep.
