Up My Alley

He is up my alley
right in front of me.
Why am I so scared?
I see him full and well…
Well, that's the scary part!
I think he sees me, feels me
positively, in his periphery.
I should have some courage
walk up, meet him
and walk with him stride by stride—
instead of just letting him walk alone.
Maybe he would like my company—
or maybe not.
Maybe he is not that different
from a creep lurking behind
in my alley, sizing me up
and getting ready to pounce…
My mind's a cluster... I'm flustered…
Scary... scary...
