The Bumper Sticker “Kind”
You’re stuck on posting
“Be Kind” and “Kindness is cool”
everywhere—but I cannot find
an iota of kind stuff within your soul.
You just love feeling “kind”,
putting “kindness” die-cuts
and laminates
on your binder or bumper.
I call your bluff.
You don’t carry yourself
with kindness
sincerely, not at all.
You’re the kind unkind:
Uncharitable.
Unfriendly.
Insensitive.
Spiteful.
Nasty.
Hateful.
Savage.
Just how do you bear
the weight of toting
and tauting your kindness
virtue signal– ain’t it heavy?

May this serve as a wake-up call to some virtue signalers somewhere, anywhere.
