A sweet repost. Originally from Feb 2024.
How I love to set myself adrift
thinking about a time we never spent
in which you had made a shift
when, at last, you decided to relent
you gave heed to the compelling wind
that forced you gently to turn your neck
back to me, choosing to rescind
thoughts of the one you had on deck
you left her behind in her own hulk
all alone, left to sulk
and then you sailed on to me that sweet yesterday
where my heart will always stay
Such a good ending to a wonderful poem :)
I am glad he heeded the wind!
