Inspired by my recent trip to Nashville, Tennessee…

I found myself one wintry night
at 2nd & Broadway,
turned a left from the latter,
got away from the chatter
and all, and all, and all
the bright, bright neon lights
of the Nash Vegas crawl.
I went down the dim-lit way
for a bit of blissful peace
mixed with good band play,
got what I wanted
from the way so haunted.
While passing up drinking,
ice cream and foodie bars,
I swayed to good ol’ music
with steel and rock guitars.
All the while I was thinking
of nothing but to be present
at this time succinctly Godsent
I simply felt to be there, to
feel its air so chilling and thick…
but before long, I gave into
a scolding hot matcha at Mike’s
Oh that cold, alas,
got terribly old.
