My Soldier (For Him)
My man is a soldier, and I wait for him
while he is on personal deployment
Duty Calls
He's off to a dark place
Unfamiliar
but will fight the good fight
and keep his sanity
in due time, somehow
He will endure, and I will too, for him
by taking up distracting enjoyment
hit the malls
knit, cook, paint, find purpose
as a volunteer
so as to not
wallow in self-pity.
Who am I to drive myself crazy now...
