The affair with ME & MR JONES is over
And my heart goes BACK TO BLACK
Oh, LOVE IS A LOSING GAME
I was ADDICTED to him
I know he and I can’t be JUST FRIENDS again
But we’ll play the pretend game for a lil’ while
Today I will WAKE UP ALONE
And he will be with her
HE CAN ONLY HOLD HER
But not love her like he did me—
So I like to think
Today I’m alone
And will cry a bit
But eventually
TEARS DRY ON THEIR OWN
YOU KNOW I’M NO GOOD
Thinking I could get back what
I shared with him
I’d been raging SOME UNHOLY WAR
Against my better judgement
Tears dry on their own — so good!
