Oh, did you hear the news this week...

The Week Poetic
Week of the 7th to the 14th of January, 2024
COME WINTER, COME STORMS!
Throughout the American Midwest and East regions,
sign of the season was especially resounding
with howling blizzards and thunderstorms.
Well... no surprise here, given... January.
Time overdue for major tempests and to carry
our polar fleeced parkas and rain coats around...
What was more a catching off-guard?
the figurative blare of the NFL firing squad
taking down a cluster of coaches—Â
even venerable Pete Carroll, no less.
Then came breaking thuds of coach news:
the sudden retirement of legendary
Alabama collegiate coach, Nick SabanÂ
and the NFL Patriots' "parting-of-ways"Â
of "G.O.A.T" coach, Bill Belichick...
More sobering...a literal, continuous roar
came from several thousand street protesters
en masse in Europe... Poles caused a uproar
over new PM Tusk, whose rise to power's
questionably undemocraticÂ
and reeks already of globalist tyranny.
From loud Poland to voiciferous Germany,
Huge convoys of farmers rolled like thunder
on highways to decry tyrannous gov policy...
Thing to ponder here is...
if thousands of farmer tractors roll down
major German autobahns
but corporate media yawns
and doesn't report this,
did the tractors make a sound?
Well, of course! The world heard and watch,
much thanks to the citizen media brigade
that's unwavering and unafraid...
Making the most rumble and outright clamor
this week—the Red Sea, from Western airstrikes
that intensified Middle East war, off Yemen.
Air-based forces, both U.S. and Britain,
delivered stern counterattack missile strikesÂ
against Houthi ( Iran-backed) rebel targets.
Worldwide concerns quickly struck whether
the newly launched airstrikes will beget
another Desert Storm and moreover, kinetic WWIII...
DOOM, DOOM… DOOM?
All in a week. You captured it precisely, Marinarena! Well done!
Nicely put.
