Oh, have you heard the news this week?

The Week Poetic
Week of the 21st to the 28th of January, 2024
High alert! High alert, USA !
Tensions tightened, constitutional crisis
heightened over the Texas- Mexico border
the vast dire stretch of new world disorder.
25 states signed on officially
with letter to support the Texas’ fight
against feds in the border battle.
Invasion concerns hit to dire high level
with a record 300,000+ illegal crossings
reported just in December '23.
No more corp media glossing—
An parlous low point for the U.S. of A!
More U.S lows and woes, from lost labor...
Job casualties continued for corps, for one
EBAY. It was going, going, gone
for over 1000 of its work force;
Unemployment continued to soar
in print media as dozens on staff
20% of the newsroom
from the LA times was laid off
Journalism doom ... doom… doom...
Farmers in Germany and France
continued national protests, got on offense
with many a daring maneuver
(spraying of buildings with manure,
for one) much to the umbrage
of globalist EU ruling state
slow to rectifying the situation;
but conceding somewhat…
Meanwhile, Gaza tensions cooled down a bit
but no ceasefire was made in the conflict—
though Israel was officially "ordered" to limit
genocide and tick up “humanitarian aid” effort
by ICJ- a United Nations court.
The ruling was pressed and led by South Africa,
a country with its share of past apartheid
and current “white genocide issues”. Huh…
Week high, week low in Trump news.
The Donald was on high, bigly over
a Delaware primary win,
then, in turn of events, was stricken
with an 85 mil defamation case loss.
He got the best of Ron DeSantis
and endorsement love from the FL Gov,
who had just quit the presidential race...
In sports, major highs were hit on the same day.
Joel Embid dropped 70 points, a personal record
beating fellow Philly 76 er Wilt Chamberlin’s 68;
Minnesota T-wolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns soared
62—all in all, a historic day in the NBA...
The week finished with Mavs’ Luka Doncic
and 2 others w/ 60 plus in a game.
"NBA action. It’s fantastic!”
Fans of NFL’s Chargers got on a high
and a much needed recharge
from news of winning coach Jim Harbaugh
named as new head man in charge...
and in the world of film entertainment and biz,
publicity was the high note with news
centered around Oscar nomination buzz.
Oppenheimer noms got much hurrah…
Ending the week on a high note,
hopes for white rhino repopulation
increased as the first in vitro fertilization
was achieved. Embryo procedures on
southern white rhinos were done
to ultimately save northern whites
from absolute species extinction
Score a small victory for conservation!
I'm really hoping for more white rhinos (the animal type).
