goofy, cutesy, showy,
silly, wondrous whimsy!
Gimme your schmaltz
Yes, even that “Millionaire Waltz”!
Gimme gimme your sappy
“Good Old Fashioned Loverboy”,
“My Baby Does Me”
and fave diddy of rockabilly,
“Crazy Little Thing Called Love”
Gimme gimme your feel-good happy
when I’m down! Gimme my “BI-cycle”
and that feel-good

Gimme your babble and gravel!

It’s all in good fun,
so bombastic, fan-tastic!
Gimme your disco pop- I dig it!
I fall like a domino
for “Another One Bites the Dust”
and even some grooves on Hot Space
which wasn’t a total disgrace!
Oh Queen, you maka-me-crazy
”Stone Cold Crazy”, ya know (oh!)
but I love that “I’m Going Slighty Mad”,
You’re a pick-me-up when I’m sad
and when life gets so hazy
About this poem

Queen, somehow, gets away with pulling off goofy, cutesy, silly (and the like) songs that are kinda bad and would be horrendous if done by a leeser artist. You just have to get into the mood for these “good bad” songs.
My Top 8 Fave Queen Songs
(not really in order… well, on certain days)
Bohemian Rhapsody- One of those perfect classic rock songs of all time in my book (“along with “Comfortably Numb”, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”, “Hotel California”…) How eccentric in the very best way, innovative, diverse, a little bit of this that, melodic, soft and heavy. Oddball song but works beautifully.
The Show Must Go On- Poignant and timeless kind of song that may just inspire an original poetic piece or other thought piece out of me. An easy put on repeat kinda song that still sends chills all over. You can help but to get a little teary-eyed by the end of that last note!
Under Pressure (with david Bowie)- this one grew on me big time It took a quite a while to appreciate Bowie voice and style, mush more than it took to enjoying Queen. Now I stop. That familar bass line groove has not gotten old at all.
Stone Cold Crazy - Short and heavy rocker here
We Will Rock You/We are the Champions- Yes, the sports stadium staple is very overplayed and cliched but it just works for me. WWRY is short but manages to drag somehow but I don’t mind it so much. I cherish when Freddie starts in on WATC.
Killer Queen- love the pace of the song, Makes you wanna sway and bang your head!
Another One Bites the Dust- infectious beat and bass you can’t deny. Yes, kinda overplayed but hard to resist
Sheer Heart Attack- a hard kinda punky rockin’ early track to pump up. Lesser appreciated it seems by the masses.
