Cassettes
Sold tape collection
for a whomping 7 bucks
Hell and back that sucks!
Struggle Was Real
Slow tape rewinding
to play that one note or play
back to beginning
The untangling
of looped up ribbon inside —
surgeon handling!
The scotch tape sticking
job done atop the shell grooves
to erase and write songs
Oh, such old school pains!
The struggle was real- no doubt!
Kids today don’t know!
Tangible
I still want to see my music,
delicately hold her
in the palm of my hand
marvel at her perfect round shape
look through her and see rainbows
and imagine how she sees me
1000 Kids
I have about 1000 kids,
more or less… I lose count
but that doesn't mean
those I may have missed aren't special.
Some of them are old
but have hardly aged,
and they have kept me young
through the years.
The oldies are treasured like my newbies,
with whom I wait to share
more times, good and bad.
Either way, the experience is cherished.
I have taken them all in
from places familar and strange,
have sheltered, cared for them,
certainly left my imprint on them.
How they shine,
twinkle in my eye...
As I look at all of my CDs,
I see reflections of me.
Dedication and Patience
Such dedication,
a world of patience needed
in the painstaking
practice of CD
skip repair … and indeed in
fixing you, my dear.
