“Now you see me, now you don’t”…
But you’re no dinner show magician
nor a ditzy magician assistant
nor an innocent white rabbit
vanishing in a hat.
This isn’t a stage act, is it?
This isn’t a staged act, right?
If it is so, it’s lame.
If it is so, it’s lousy.
If this is so, I lament not bringing
my mushy red rotten tomatoes
to throw at the ghost of you.
If this is so, I want my money back.
