No more papers, please!
They're a steal- but, no need, thanks.
Grandaddy's gone now.
It was killing him
to see the Times' demise
Damn the politics!
Makes me friggin' sick
how journalism's gone down
to amazing lows.
You just do not know
what to believe anymore,
what lies between lines …
And then the half-truths
that make it past edit-proofs.
Poof! There goes all trust!
Dear ol' grandaddy
once had such precious blind faith
in the black-and-white,
and so once did I
upon a time not long passed.
Oh, those were the times!
That was a great poem, with some really strong lines, and a really powerful point.
