Here they go again—
the rolling out of
colossal Covidian Buns.
Though, we just desire
ooey-gooey cinnamon
ones fresh out of the oven.
We had thought these
uncalled-for bakers got tired
and closed shop — but
here they are open
once more for business,
and feeling the need
to constantly knead,
to make batches
and batches more
of what we definitely
don’t need and surely
don’t want.
Oh, nothing like a good cinammon bun! Especially a gooey one light on the icing and powdered sugar... Have any of these of these instead of the Covidian buns being served up now.
Commentary of Poem:
Finished this piece a few weeks ago. I was hearing talk about a planned return of Covid restrictions and sure enough more and more reports are coming out that the rolling out of Covid pandemic rules, including mask mandates, will be underway for fall ’23. Ugh… but don’t be fearful. Take care, build your immunity and just #donotcomply, for the love of humanity!
