Complacency is a car
more luxurious and lauded out
than a cushy Cadillac
these days.

Those who covet it
can’t fathom letting it go,
wouldn’t trade it 
for anything else in the world.

They’re sunken in,
heels on peddle
and coastin’ it,
feelin’ no care in the world.

Complacency is their world
their pride and joy
well-polished and maintained
to last ‘til forever and ever.
