I ts influence on the civil rights movement
R ealized by courageous freedom fighters...
M oreover, Birmie has merriment,
I ronies and quirks that’ll surprise you
N utty case of her prominent satanic fountain
G iven the town’s heavy Baptist tradition...
H overing butt naked Roman statue gods,
A lluring Vulcan and Elektra, guard above
M agic City’s ironclad edifices and haunted grounds
A ttention’s needed to fix urban strife here, but...
L ots is still in her favor
A nother Southern wonder, Birmie is...
B eggin’ for newbie visitors to discover her
A musement, yes, even at an old furnace site ,
M ajesty on high at Ruffner Mountain and

I love this! I remember doing such a style of poem in school but this is the first poem on substack (after reading LOTS of poems) that has adopted this style. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, yet insightful poem :)
