Still a lovable, happy August baby;
hasn’t changed in the face hardly
(ditto in voice);
hasn’t altered in lock step
with the maddening world;

a little different from the rest
and absolutely okay with that;
can’t be put nicely into a category
and categorically fine with that;

is not trying to be most popular
but being her best;
not prissy nor pretentious;
not vying for your approval
unless you’re mother;

Still hasn’t missed a beat;
Still wanna rock softly and hard;
Still leaning into marvelous melody
is full of soul;

Still into telling stories
to which everybody can relate;
Still into “love gone wrong” songs;
and both upbeat and uptempo tunes
with full band;

is holding true to genuinity
and femininity;
has a big heart;
stays internally true blue
and still believing in you
